Capturepoint was founded in 1999 as a custom web application development firm in Ridgewood, NJ and continues serving clients in the pharmaceutical and educational publishing markets today. In 2003, the company launched its flagship product CommunityPass to service local sports and municipal organizations.
Capturepoint can trace the roots of CommunityPass, the industry leading recreation and school management software, back to 2002 when volunteers heading their town’s Sports Council found themselves with an enormous challenge: Kids were signing up for athletic programs in record numbers but the Council became overwhelmed with processing the hundreds of paper registration forms submitted. Tapped out of volunteers to handle the volume of submissions, they hired people to help do the job but the costs eventually became too high. Knowing there had to be a way to make the process easier and with an eye on online registration options, they turned to the software developers at Capturepoint to come up with a solution.
